The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippines, jointly announce the call for proposals for the 2026 Bilateral Agreement International Cooperative Research Program.

The National Science and Technology Council (NSTC) and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Philippines, are jointly inviting applications for the 2026 Bilateral Agreement International Cooperative Research Program. The first-stage application will be accepted by the Philippine side until March 2, 2026 (subject to the announcement on the DOST official website). Please take note and circulate this information accordingly.

Notes:

1. The priority research fields of this program include Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Computing, Circular Economy, Smart Agriculture, Biopharmaceuticals, and Ocean Carbon Cycle. The project duration is up to three years.

2. Applications for this year’s program will be conducted in two stages, as outlined below:
(1) The first stage will be accepted exclusively by DOST. The Philippine Principal Investigator shall submit the application directly to DOST. Relevant application procedures and requirements shall be subject to DOST announcements.
(2) The second stage will be accepted separately by NSTC and DOST. After receiving the list of Taiwanese Principal Investigators who have passed the first-stage review from DOST, NSTC will notify the Taiwanese Principal Investigators to submit full project proposals to NSTC. The application period is tentatively scheduled from late April to mid-June 2026.

The tentative project implementation period is scheduled to begin on January 1, 2027.
