Lin Yu-Hsuan and Hsieh Chi-Mei Joint Exhibition Opens, Depicting Poetic Landscapes Through Oil Painting Reported by Taiwan Life News
Talimu Cultural Park has long been committed to promoting and advocating for equal access to arts and culture — not only opening its exhibitions and performances to everyone, but also frequently inviting self-taught artists to hold shows. Oil painters Lin Yu-Hsuan and Hsieh Chi-Mei are both students of Wu Ching-Tien, an oil painting instructor from Sihu, having studied painting for 8 years and 4 years respectively. Drawing on their passion for the art form and their delicate feminine sensibilities, the two artists have captured the poetry of the countryside in their work. Their joint exhibition, "Poetic Landscapes," is currently on display at the park's "Living Aesthetics Hall," running through July 27, and interested members of the public are welcome to visit and enjoy the exhibition.
Enthusiastically introducing her latest work, oil painter Hsieh Chi-Mei, together with fellow oil painter Lin Yu-Hsuan, is currently holding their joint exhibition "Poetic Landscapes" at the Talimu Cultural Park in Dounan. Lin Yu-Hsuan notes that the exhibition's title, "Poetic Landscapes," refers not only to depicting one's hometown, but to painting the land and countryside itself. Hsieh Chi-Mei, meanwhile, has drawn many feelings and insights from painting, and has incorporated her reflections on life into her works.
Both oil painters are students of Sihu oil painting instructor Wu Ching-Tien, who also attended the exhibition's opening event. He remarked that both women are his star pupils, noting that achieving such results after only a relatively short time studying painting shows that learning oil painting is, in fact, not difficult, and encouraged those interested in exploring art to bravely take the first step. From a viewer's perspective, some attendees on-site felt that the exhibition was especially well-suited for audiences of all ages to experience firsthand.
Talimu Cultural Park stated that the mission of its Aesthetics Hall is to help discover artists hidden within the local community who have not yet been recognized, promoting folk art and realizing equal access to culture. This exhibition, they noted, aims to introduce the public to these two "pearls" who are not yet widely known.
The joint oil painting exhibition "Poetic Landscapes" by Lin Yu-Hsuan and Hsieh Chi-Mei is on display at the Living Aesthetics Hall, Talimu Cultural Park, Dounan, through July 27. The public is warmly encouraged to visit and enjoy the exhibition.
