National Formosa University held the "Sustainability Action University" Joint Achievement Exhibition on 12/18 (Thursday) at the university's First Campus. The event brought together more than 50 booths from within and outside the university, covering areas such as SDG practices, USR (University Social Responsibility), a decade of achievements in general education, low-carbon circular economy, and the cultivation of green talent, attracting government agencies, local communities, corporate partners, and multiple schools to attend and exchange ideas.

NFU President Chang Hsin-Liang stated that the university established the Office of Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility in 2022, with the original intention of responding to rapid environmental change by leveraging the university's strength to apply technology to sustainable development, and to systematically integrate the spirit of sustainability into both professional courses and general education. He emphasized that sustainability practices are not merely a matter of holding events, but rather a matter of "advancing both hands-on action and technological expertise together" while working hand-in-hand with local communities and businesses to promote sustainability initiatives.

Chang Hsin-Liang pointed out that over the past two years, NFU has ranked as the university with the most awards nationwide in the Asia-Pacific and Taiwan Sustainable Action Awards, and Yunlin County Government has also been the county/city government with the most awards nationwide, demonstrating the strong emphasis both the university and the local community place on sustainability and ecology, and expressing hope to continue serving as an important force driving the sustainability movement.

The achievement exhibition also held an "ECOCO Smart Bottle Collection Machine Launch Ceremony," jointly supported by ASE Technology Holding, Siliconware Precision Industries, ASE Foundation for Sustainable Development, and the ASE Environmental & Sustainability Foundation. The smart recycling equipment was installed on campus, using automatic recognition and recycling functions to enhance the convenience and effectiveness of resource recycling, serving as a demonstration case of industry-academia collaboration in practicing sustainability initiatives.

This year's achievement exhibition was jointly planned and coordinated by NFU's Office of Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility and the General Education Center. The Office of Sustainable Development, under the theme "Small Actions, Great Sustainability — Low-Carbon Circular Economy × Social Responsibility × SDG Practice Exhibition," showcased smart circular economy systems, recycling and exchange mechanisms, air quality monitoring, community collaboration, and student sustainability proposals, demonstrating the university's on-campus practices in core SDG issues such as quality education, sustainable cities and communities, responsible consumption, and climate action.

NFU's General Education Center simultaneously held the "10th General Education Expo," themed "Beautiful Moments in Time," featuring 9 faculty members and 16 courses spanning fields such as law, philosophy, technology, humanities, art, literature, and sustainable development, showcasing a decade of cross-disciplinary achievements in general education and embodying the educational spirit of "understanding oneself, caring for others, and embracing the world."

Yunlin County Government also showcased a range of sustainability achievements on-site, promoted by its Department of Planning, Department of Agriculture, and Environmental Protection Bureau, presenting concrete actions toward green transformation through the reuse of agricultural surplus materials, combined with local cultural design and high-value circular applications.
